About Bob Parker FGIntPT
Bob has been a Fellow of the Guild of International Professional Toastmasters and a Master of Ceremonies for over seventeen years. He was elected Chairman of the Guild in 2005, a position he still retains today. He was the Guild's 'Toastmaster of the Year' in 2006. Bob has been one of the tutors at the Guild's School for Toastmasters for the past 8 years.
Bob trained at the famous Ivor Spencer School for Toastmasters and has fully embraced Ivor's principles of providing the best service possible, no matter what the event.
The Badge of the Guild of International Professional Toastmasters.
Your guarantee that your Toastmaster has been properly trained in all aspects of the work of a Toastmaster and has undergone and passed a rigorous examination process conducted by Fellows of the Guild.
Prior to becoming a Toastmaster Bob had been involved in the entertainment and hospitality sector throughout his adult life. A former DJ and radio presenter, Bob was also well known in the licensed trade for over 30 years.
Bob has officiated at countless weddings since becoming a Toastmaster but has also officiated at many Civic Dinners and garden parties, Company and Institute presentations and Dinners, Masonic Ladies Nights and Burns Nights Suppers. Bob is always available to help with advice from the moment he is appointed and, as many brides and event organisers have said over the years, "We couldn't have managed without him".
Bob firmly believes that a Toastmaster is there to help and not to dictate. Advice will always be offered but at the end of the day, the organiser will get the event he or she wants in the way that they want it to run.
As with all Fellows of the Guild of International Professional Toastmasters, Bob is covered by the Guild's liability insurance of up to £5M. This gives peace of mind to anyone booking one of the Guild's Toastmasters.
Bob enjoys working with people and this comes through at all his events. He believes that it is essential to work together with the hotel or function rooms, the photographers, videographers, entertainers, Bands and D.J.s. It is only by working together as a team that the guests will truly be able to enjoy the function.
Bob passionately believes that a Toastmaster should not be pedantic, officious or act as the primary entertainer at an event and he instills this view into students at the Guild's training courses. In that way he knows that if he is not available on a date, he will be able to invite another Toastmaster from the Guild to step in with the confidence that they will perform to the same high standard.

Bob has homes on the Herts/Essex border and in Dorset so anywhere from Essex to Bournemouth is within easy reach for him. However, Bob is willing to travel anywhere to help make your event an occasion to be remembered - for all the right reasons.
Venues that Bob has worked range from top London & provincial hotels and halls to some of the more intimate banqueting rooms, private houses and marquees. Although Bob is the recommended Toastmaster at the Manor of Groves Hotel in Sawbridgeworth he has worked extensively throughout the country and abroad. Naturally, much of his work is centered around the Bishop's Stortford, Stansted, Harlow, Cheshunt, Cambridge and Watford areas of Hertfordshire, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and London but Bob is willing to travel anywhere. Venues at which Bob has worked during the past year include weddings at Adare Manor in Ireland and Art for Art in Vienna. An extensive - though not complete - list of many of the venues that Bob has worked at are shown on the 'Venues & Contact' page of this website.
